Premonition. Can You Trust It?

Somehow Robert A. Heinlein was asked about this feeling. He said: “Apparently, it does at first glance, not supported by the belief that some event will happen or not happen. I would say that this is the result of a subconscious interpretation of data on the presence of which you do not even suspect. ”

Premonition and prophetic dreams

There are many stories about how some people sensed unpleasant events in the future. My life was such a case. A friend of my mother Helen told me that her sister was seriously ill, doctors diagnosed cancer in the final stage. From the hospital she was after discharged home inspection.Once Helen called and told my mother that she had a dream, she saw eight and half yards of black satin, and this vision was so real, that she immediately opened her eyes and began to think that this would grow. My mother is realist, advised to forget about it and disregarded. On the ninth day her sister Helen died … My mother just threw up her hands and refused to comment.Fast forward a couple millennia ago in the Roman Empire of Julius Caesar there was an ample evidence that before the death of Caesar, his third wife Kalpurniya saw a terrible prophetic dream . Here’s how Suetonius described, “Gable her home collapsed, and her husband was stabbed to death in her arms.” Waking up, she threw herself in tears at the feet of her husband and began to beg him not to go to the Senate that day. But Caesar chose not to listen to a superstitious woman. A few hours later he was killed by the conspirators.

Another mystery story is associated with the prophetic dream and a premonition about the loss of human life. Abraham Lincoln had a dream: he descended the stairs, draped with black material. At the post were soldiers, the president asked him: “Why is morning?” The soldier replied: “According to the assassinated president!” Lincoln told his wife, Mary about the strange dream. After having listened to him, she got worried and said that it is better to stay home that day and not to go out. But Abraham said that day’s theater premiere, they had to appear together in the audience. On April 14, 1865 a little-known actor of the theater, John Wilkes Booth, who hated Lincoln, played his most famous role – the role of an assassin. He killed the president in his bed, shot him in the head … What’s interesting reading these prophetic stories which obviously were given a hint of warning of an impending disaster, many people failed to take advantage of them. They or their loved ones, for some unclear signals sensed hints of how their fate was after or the fate of relatives, but for some reason they did not listen to their “six sense”.

Premonition and intuition

Premonition can be defined as an unconscious human trait to foresee an event that may occur in the future. Intuition is a person’s ability to take a quick right solution to any problem without a detailed analysis of the situation and the situation may relate to the past, present and future. How do these concepts work? Based on intuition we can get instant knowledge of everything: the subject, problem, man. The aim of foreboding is the future: some event that should happen. Premonition alerts and reports that will be the case. A person cannot change anything in the impending event, he must take it for granted, like it or not. Intuition is related to the study of not only real, but likely events. If intuition can be trained, then comes a presentiment of itself, “without asking permission.”

Premonition in the service of the State

It may seem strange, but some states have paid attention to the massive anticipation of people and decided to create an organization called the Registrar of foreboding (PDUs). The first country that founded this organization was the United Kingdom. The reason was that, the students of one school refused to go to school because they saw a strange dream that the school had disappeared under a black substance. The parents of pupils and teachers believed that the way children try to wriggle out of employment. But the reality has set everything in its place. One day, a giant landslide covered the school building along with everyone who was there. Then the parents started to pray God that their children left home that day, were buried under the rubble of the school. Another example. The mine in Wales as a result of the accident killed more than a hundred people. The bureau staff collected reports of people who sensed the tragedy. It turned out that the reports received from 70 to 25 authors who told their friends about the anticipation of trouble, even as many people saw prophetic dreams warning of the accident. In the remaining 20 cases, information is not confirmed. The same organization was founded in the USA. It’s called the Federal Bureau of foreboding (FGF). The reason for the creation of this organization was that Alan Vaughan had predicted the assassination of Robert Kennedy.
The first premonition came from Alan 3 months before the fatal event. He began to dream prophetic dreams with the details of the coming murder. He wrote a letter warning the leading American parapsychologist who studied the reasons for the extraordinary mental abilities, and requested the authorities to turn their attention to the safety of Robert Kennedy ‘s travel around the country as part of the presidential election . A final warning Vaughan sent 4 days before the murder, but nobody believed him. Robert Kennedy was assassinated on June 6, 1968 in California. At the moment, the FGF collects information about the mass of people about any premonitions of future tragedies and disasters. The Office for sure has found transport accidents that have occurred with trains and planes, as a rule, passengers less than expected. People are either late for the flight, or do not come, as if sensing that the rush is not worth it.

So, whether or not to trust their apprehension? I would advise to take it into account, if you have a sense of anxiety and some speculate that something must happen. This is an internal emotion difficult to explain if there is no apparent reason for concern.
Listen to your “sixth sense”, but do not rely on it entirely. Sometimes it is useful to turn to reason and common sense.
